The caravan and camping Industry in New South Wales realises that Australia has some big challenges ahead in order to reduce our eco-footprint. For this reason, environmental programs such as the Gumnut Awards have been developed to get the touring industry to proactively drive environmental sustainability.

What are the Gumnut Awards?

The Gumnut Award recognises holiday, tourist and caravan parks and  manufacturers and dealers of recreational vehicles who are leading the way in environmental best practice. Based on the David Bellamy  Conservation Awards (U.K.), the program was developed by the Caravan and Camping Industry Association of NSW (CCIA) and the University of Western Sydney to protect and reflect the uniqueness of the Australian environment and culture.
